#13 last week’s pens: week 22 of 2026
Last week brought a trip to the sunny shores of Barcelona. I was supposed to be working for three days, and one of those days included a long walk throughout the city. This put three main constraints to my weekly inked; compact, resistant, and comfortable.
#11 last week’s pens: week 21 of 2026
I seem to be having a moment with shimmer inks, considering that the shimmer pen was already empty by mid-week. Maybe it’s time to increase the shimmer inked pens to two... Let’s get into it!
#10 last weeks’ pens: weeks 13-20 of 2026
I didn’t have a lot of time for maintenance, so I was mostly putting pens in and out of use within a 5-pen rotation. Yes, it is in a 6-pen case. No, I simply didn’t want to ink another pen.
#9 last week’s pens: week 12 of 2026
I get the most enjoyment out of my pens when I can be impulsive with it, and limiting the number of pens inked has been helping me change inks more often.
#8 last week’s pens: week 11 of 2026
This week’s inked is full of familiar inks and pens, including some bright sunny colours!
#7 last week’s pens: week 10 of 2026
This week’s colour palette worked quite well, the orange and the blues make each other pop off the page, making for very fun colourful notes.
#5 last week’s pens: week 9 of 2026
This week saw a red ink week, full of new and old favourites. The three different nibs and three very different inks made for good variety, but I cannot in full confidence say that they worked together well.
#3 last week’s pens: week 8 of 2026
Lately, a three-pen rotation has been keeping me plenty happy. There’s enough variation to pick and choose, but I can realistically use up most of the ink in a week too. Last week turned out to be the week of green pens and cool-toned inks.
#1 turn the page: kaweco sport fountain pen
Maybe a Kaweco Sport is the perfect pen. It shows up, subtly, reliably, everyday. When I’m changing bags or purses it’s the first thing I reach for, and then chug it into my bag next to my keys and wallet. It’s familiar, covered in my fingerprints and scratches from my various keys over the years. Nothing puts me into a “let’s go” mindset more than this pen.
